Capital is Warsaw, currencies are Zloty and Euro and the conversion rates are (1 Euro = 4.5 Zloty), (1 Euro = 120 Rupees). Official Language: Polish(Polska), but English is also widely used and understood. Major cities: Gdańsk, Kraków, Łódź, Poznań, Wrocław and Population: around 38.5 million.
Poland is located in the very center of Europe with the total area of 312,679 km². Poland borders 7 countries: Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, and Russia.
Poland is a member of the European Union. As a result passport checks are abolished on Poland’s borders to Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Lithuania. It practically means that persons admitted to the Schengen Area can travel hassle-free between the countries of the Schengen Area without internal land and sea border controls.
The average summer temperature ranges from 20 °C to 30 °C. Winters are cold – the average ranges from 3 °C in the northwest to –8 °C in the northeast.

Is it necessary to have IELTS or TOEFL score in order to apply?
Students with the IELTS Band of 6.0 will be allowed to enter their departments directly without having to go through Foundation English School courses or placement exam. If a student does not have one of these qualifications, an English proficiency exam will be given upon arrival at the university.

Am I required to live on-campus?
It is compulsory for students to stay in the University dormitory for the first year of their studies. Students, from second year may live off-campus.

What is the average living cost per month for a student?
Poland Universities offer affordable tuition and fees as well as accommodation charges, whilst Poland offers moderate living expenses. Estimated average living expenses for international students are 150 – 200 Euro per month.
Do I need to have a bank Statement?
Yes, bank statement is a visa requirements therefore students interested to apply to study in Poland must have a bank statement.
How do I get to the campus?
HMARK consultants will make your airport pick up arrangement to the campus prior to your flight. It is required for a student to inform about the flight details to the relevant counselor 3 days prior to their flight.
Am I required to have a permit or visa to stay in Poland?
Every overseas student studying in Poland, and after completing their course registration on-campus, has to obtain a student visa extension in order to stay in the country. The University will assist with the immigration procedures.
How can I transfer my credit hours to another university?

Can I travel back to my home country during stay in Poland?
Yes, you will be able to travel back to your home country once you have received the Visa extension of Poland on your passport.
May I obtain a driving license?
Yes, students may obtain a Poland driver’s license converting their international driving license obtained from their home country. If they do not have any international driving license then after completing some driving courses, a student can obtain it. The fee varies, depends on the validity of driving license. May I work while studying?
Officially, students are allowed to work for 20 hours per week. There are many job opportunities available for students. Students are in any case advised to concentrate on their studies.
Students could find part time jobs while studying such as in bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, or even in their universities.
May I work once I graduate from the university?
Yes, after graduation, students could find full-time jobs in industries and international companies if they have a good knowledge of Polish Language (Polska) and English.
How do I get Permanent Residence of Poland?
To apply for PR, one must work for five years on work permit in Poland and then be eligible to apply for it.
How can I open a bank account in Poland?
Poland is well served, with each major town having about 10 banks. The most popular banks are HSBC, National Bank of Poland, PKO Bank, Bank Ochrony Srodowiska, Bank Zachodni WBK, Bank Millenium SA and many more. Students at the age of 18 or above may open a bank account at any bank. Prior to opening the account, they must have a student letter and a student Visa.
What is the local currency? May other currencies be used?
The unit of currency in Poland are the Zloty (PLN) and Euro (€). Most businesses will also accept payments in the main foreign currencies such as the British Pound and US Dollar
Which GSM operators do you have in Poland?
There are four GSM mobile telephone networks that provide international communications are: Orange, Plus GSM, ERA and Play. Price plans are almost the same for students.
